Well, hello. It is a new year! And only 7 days in, so we are all still full of new year, new me energy, correct? I’m not sure which is better; the optimism of starting a new year or the “I want to buy every school supply known to man” energy of early September.
Anywoo, let’s get on with it, poodles.

Literally nothing. 🥳
Consuming
So I love a good healthy Buddha Bowl or the like. Plop down a feast of veggies with a drizzle of cashew sauce in front of me, and I will happily eat it for most every meal.
Yet somehow I keep defaulting to a spoonful of peanut butter with chocolate chips as dinner. Somebody please tell me the secrets of food prep before I turn into a glob.
Contemplating
The joys of being an introvert. I know, I know, introversion is so 2018. But I remain a proud, passionate introvert, scurrying away from any human interaction after an hour or so to recoup. If you would like a bit of a laugh, and some solid advice, read my post, How to Build a Cozy Nest When You Call Into Work Introverted.
Laughing at
When something is somewhat unpleasant, it is advisable to lighten that thing up with a bit of humor.
Trips to visit my dad in his assisted living facility have become depression bombs for my sister and me as my dad rarely gets ouot of bed anymore and can’t remember much of anything.
So we like to lighten shit up with some selfies in front of the decorations. (They do a fabulous job with the decorations, btw. They’re literally everywhere for every holiday.)
Side note: Do you guys have an awkward go-to photo face you make? I can’t seem to stop with the open-mouth look as seen above. I think it may be time to move onto duck lips.
Acquired
A very basic book on chakra healing, Chakra Healing: A Beginner's Guide to Self-Healing Techniques that Balance the Chakras by Margarita Alcantara.
I’m enjoying the succinct format and it seems like I will reference this book often as I learn more about chakras.
Happy New Year Jeanette :-) I thought about not picking a word for this year (because really I forget the word before week 1 is out), but then one day during December "Restraint" popped into my head...I can't remember why...not surprising because my short term memory is shot...(thank you Perimenopause or Genetics or Both). I know "Restraint" isn't the uber-positive go-getter type of word that people usually tout choosing, but for me it's a good one. I need reminding to slow down, pause, think before I leap, or speak, or put that handful of marshmallows into my mouth because I am too skattered and lethargic to think of something healthier and less caloric to fill my gob. :-) I'm transitioning into my "eating less because I gained too much weight on holiday yummies and need to drop at least 8 lbs." adventure. Meal planning and prep is the key for me. If I can plan it all out, including snacks, and stick to a time schedule for when to eat what I do pretty darn good. It's just getting up to speed that is the most challenging part. Wish me luck! Cheers! :-)
